What if time was no longer a factor. Rather than counting down the number of years you have left, you could enjoy an ageless lifestyle of abundance. Does this sound like science fiction to you?
If so, you’re going to want to pay strict attention to how you can live a genuinely ageless life with a much easier solution than you think.
We spoke with Dr. Andrew Steele, a scientist who is dedicated to the cause of aging.
He shared some of his insights into the science of aging on our latest installment of The Art of Making Things Happen with Steve Sims.
If you’re someone who believes that age just comes for us all, you’re going to want to listen to what Andrew has to share. It could change the way you think about aging forever.
At the age of 30, Dr. Steele has a likelihood of death that is 1:1,000. That means without illness and disease. So he could live to be almost 1,000 years old!
On the other end, Andrew states our risk of death doubles every eight years. Now, that’s a sobering statistic, but it does show a disconnect between our likelihood of death and our risk of death.
So, while most people believe we age as they get older, there is an opportunity left on the table to live an ageless reality.
Right now, there is some research going to an ageless reality, but not nearly enough to solve the problem of aging. Dr. Steele states that we’re spending one-tenth of the amount on reversing aging than we do on disease.
When biologists look at the aging problem, they look at a biomolecular level. One area of unique interest is senescent cells. Another way to define these cells is they are considered the “aging cell.”
As we get older, we develop more senescent cells in our bodies that we can’t eliminate. That causes the aging process. So by solving the senescent cell generation problem in our later years, we can essentially stop, if not, reverse the aging process.
In trials with mice that are 24 months old (roughly 70 in human years) are given a drug to remove their senescent cells, they get younger. Essentially it decreases their willingness to develop cancer, heart disease, cataracts, and other diseases associated with aging.
Not only that, they can move faster, they’re more agile and younger-looking. Senescent cells are only one of the ten hallmarks of aging that Dr. Steele seeks to eradicate.
Imagine we lived in a world where aging didn’t exist. Would we create aging to control the problem of the population? Andrew Steele certainly doesn’t think so.
If you’re looking to learn more about the greatest humanitarian challenge of our time, check out Ageless online or at a book store near you. It’s a great place to start to build your awareness around this immensely important topic.
Ageless is written in a completely digestible way for people to understand. So no matter your scientific background, you can follow it.
If you’re looking for ways to reduce aging, there are a few things you can do. Number one is to make sure you brush your teeth. The next is to make sure you exercise and eat whole foods.
Undoubtedly, brushing your teeth is one of the best ways to help slow down the aging process. The reason is that when your body is fighting low-level bacterial infections every day from your gums. Taking care of your teeth can stop inflammation throughout the body.
The idea of living in an ageless society seems like something out of science fiction, but it just may become part of our future world. Would you want to live in an ageless society?
